This course is designed for information technology individuals, including enterprise application architects, designers, developers, and content modelers and creators. |
Prerequisites |
XM30: Introduction to XML and Related Technologies or equivalent experience. Working knowledge of development using the Java language. Some experience with a Java Integrated Development Environment (IDE) and using DB2 or other relational databases is helpful, but is not necessary. |
Objectives |
After completing XM321, students will be able to:
- Navigate and develop Java and XML-based applications using IBM's WebSphere Application Developer product
- Describe the role of parsers in XML-based applications
- Develop Java-based XML applications utilizing the Simple API for XML (SAX)
- Develop Java-based XML applications utilizing the Document Object Model (DOM) API
- Develop programs that create XML documents from Java objects
- Develop programs that use XML Stylesheet Language (XSL) transformations to convert XML source documents to different formats
- Describe the underlying architecture of XML application development
- Develop applications that extract information from a DB2 relational database and convert it into an XML structure |
