Description |
This course provides students with the skills needed to install, implement, and support Windows 95/NT. Students learn through hands-on use of the product in both a Windows 95 and Windows NT environment. |
Audience |
This course is designed for persons who are responsible for one or more of the following activities:
- Planning and installing Client Access for Windows 95/NT on
AS/400 systems and PCs
- Setting up and tailoring Client Access for Windows 95/NT on the
AS/400 system and PCs
- Providing technical support for Client Access for Windows 95/NT
users |
Prerequisites |
Before taking this course, students should be familiar with the basic operation of the Windows 95 or Windows NT user interface.
Students will benefit from having experience with the following activities:
- Using My Computer and Control Panel to control the
workstation environment
- Using the Network Neighborhood icon to access, browse and use
files in the workstation network
- Adding network adapters
-Configuring TCP/IP
Students should also have experience using OS/400 commands to:
- Perform basic system operations
- Work with devices (displays and printers)
- Work with output queues
- Work with AS/400 security |
Objectives |
After completing this course, students should be able to:
- Install Client Access for Windows 95/NT on a Windows 95
or Windows NT workstation
- Connect a Windows 95 or Windows NT workstation to one or more AS/400
systems across TCP/IP and SNA communications
- Select and configure one or more views of AS/400 system resources
from a windows 95 or Windows NT workstation
- Route PC print output to an AS/400-managed printer or AS/400
print output to a PC-managed printer
- Use Operations Navigator
- Access, browse and use data from an AS/400 system and other
computers in the network, including data accessed through the
AS/400 Integrated File System |
