Prerequisites

A global knowledge of LAN and WAN Networking and TCP/IP.

Objectives

Upon completion of this course, the student should be able to:
o Explain the IP addressing.
o Explain the consequences of the physical network on IP addressing
o Explain some consequences of the usage of the network on IP addressing.
o Design an addessing plan with subnetting, variable subnetting, CIDR.
o Explain the usage of a Firewall in a network and the consequences on the adressing plan.
o Explain the differences between RIP and OSPF and build a routing architecture.
o Give the guidelines of a DNS architecture in a TCP/IP network.

Designing a routing architecture, DNS Functions, Architecture guidelines
Relation with a firewall
SNMP, Review and design guidelines, General architecture guidelines, Linking remote sites. All along the course, exercises and a case study will be run in order to apply theoretical items.
