INTERNET WORKING FUNDAMENTALS (NW09)

Format

Classroom

Duration

5.0 Day(s)

Description

Get a solid understanding of internetworking fundamentals and operation. Learn how computers communicate using Transmission Control Protocol / Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) over both Local Area Networks (LAN) and Wide Area Networks (WAN). Learn the function of each of the layers in the TCP/IP protocol stack,
basic addressing, Domain Name Servers (DNS), and the functions of the major TCP/IP applications. Reinforce classroom presentations through hands-on labs. Construct multiple TCP/IP networks and then verify their internetworking operation.
Configure and use some of the most common TCP/IP applications.
Learn how networking software and hardware components work together to create today's networks and the technologies to build networks in the future.

Audience

Individuals who need to understand the components that are used to construct a network and how TCP/IP is used to send and receive information across networks. Individuals who need a comprehensive technical introduction to internetworking and hands-on experience that provides the prerequisite knowledge for follow-on courses, such as Interconnecting Cisco Network Devices (ICND).

Prerequisites

Operational knowledge of personal computers
