Description |
The purpose of this course is to teach some of the more advanced skills of designing and writing business programs which issue calls to the Message Queue Interface (MQI). |
Audience |
Experienced business application programmers who need additional skills in developing programs using the messaging and queuing techniques provided by MQSeries. |
Prerequisites |
A basic understanding of the concepts of the messaging and queuing model and how that model has been implemented in MQSeries. This information can be gained from either:
- Attending “MQSeries Technical Introduction,” or
- equivalent experience
A basic understanding of the MQI, including the ability to code
simple MQSeries programs. This information can be gained from either:
- Attending “MQSeries Application Programming,” or
- equivalent experience
Experience in designing business application programs
Experience in writing programs in one of the procedural
programming languages supported by MQSeries |
Objectives |
On successful completion of this course, you should be able to:
- Describe and use in an application the security features of MQSeries, including the context fields of the message descriptor and the alternate user authority
- Describe the usage of the MQINQ and MQSET calls, and be able to use them in a program
- Describe the uses of message groups and message
segmentation and be able to use them in a program
- Describe and use distribution lists
- Describe and use PCF commands within a program
