Description

Learn the internal concepts and major components and structure Operating System. You will learn to discuss the relationship and usage of each o concepts, and will be able to write application code that bett system features.
The C programming language is used extensively to illustrate a various system features.

Audience

Users who need to know about the underlying structure of the AIX operating system.
This would include those that are porting applications to AIX and those preparing to write device drivers.

Prerequisites

A programming knowledge of the C programming language and a working knowledge of AIX system calls.
Obtain these skills by taking AIX Application Programming Environment (AU25/Q1125) or have equivalent knowledge.
A user level working knowledge of AIX/UNIX including editors, shells, pipes and I/O redirection.
Obtain these skills by taking AIX Version 4 Basics Plus and AIX Version 4 Korn Shell Programming (AU23/Q1123), or have equivalent knowledge.
