Description

This course concentrates on the core skills required to do effective Perl 5 Programming. It also introduces the extensive module library, with particular attention to using Perl for database and web development

Audience

Anyone who wants to use Perl to improve their productivity. This might include system administrators, database administrators or developers looking for a powerful programming environment. The course is also relevant for system administrators working with the RS/6000 SP systems and for Tivoli administrators.

Prerequisites

Before taking this course, you should have:

- Familiarity with AIX/UNIX or Windows operating systems
- Proficiency with a text editor, such as vi or emacs
Familiarity with shell scripting, C or other procedural programming language
