Description |
This course introduces you to IBM WebSphere Development Studio Client for the iSeries product, and shows you how to move from 5250 green screen tools to workstation tools featuring a Graphical User Interface, and how to use these application development tools to create and maintain iSeries host applications. This course helps you explore the features and functions of the following Development Studio Client iSeries application development tools: Remote Systems Explorer, CODE Editor, CODE Designer, and Distributed Debugger. We use a small payroll application to walk you through the edit, compile, and debug cycle. |
Audience |
This course is designed for iSeries application developers who are using the iSeries Application Development Tools (ADTS) products (PDM, SEU, SDA) and are interested in increasing their productivity using new workstation Graphical User Interface tools. |
Prerequisites |
A general knowledge of DDS and RPG or COBOL languages is helpful. You should have a general knowledge of the iSeries system. You should also have experience in using applicable iSeries menus and displays, or control language (CL) commands.
Experience with a programmable workstation and a Microsoft Windows operating system is also suggested. |
