Description |
This course will cover Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) implementation on OS/400 using a mixture of lectures and hands-on labs. The course material addresses accessing the Internet as well as private intranets. A general knowledge of TCP/IP architecture is required for successful completion of the course. |

Prerequisites |
o Basic OS/400 skills including knowledge of the IFS
o Basic Windows skills
o General knowledge of TCP/IP concepts and terminology
o Conceptual knowledge of the Internet |
Objectives |
Upon completion of this course the successful student will be able to:
- Discuss the origins, objectives, and architecture of the TCP/IP Communication Protocols
- Illustrate a simple TCP/IP Network and label its major components
- Install, maintain, and configure TCP/IP on OS/400
- Describe, install, tailor, monitor, and locate applicable IBM technical material for TCP/IP Servers on OS/400
- Describe the components of OS/400 TCP/IP that can affect server performance
